Bangor is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Bangor is located 28 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire in the area commonly called Menai. Bangor sits south of the Georges River and to the west of the Woronora River. == History == The name ‘Bangor’ was selected in 1895 by the land’s owner, a farmer named Owen Jones, after his birthplace Bangor in Wales. To avoid confusion with Bangor in Tasmania, the Postmaster General’s Office changed the suburb name to Menai in 1910. Another Australian Bangor is located in South Australia. Menai Bridge is a town opposite the original Bangor, on the Menai Strait in Wales. When Menai expanded, the eastern section was renamed Bangor in 1976.As part of the modern development of Bangor, the streets were all named with an Aboriginal theme. == Population == In the 2016 Census, there were 5,568 people in Bangor. 81.1% of people were born in Australia.

We bought and moved into our new home in the middle of 2023 and we knew wanted to make some updates to it. I was recommended Dura Group from a friend and we are over the moon with the work they have done. We wanted to have a media/feature wall in our living room as it was just a plain space. Mark who is the owner at Dura Group came round, listened to our ideas and we also gave him some pictures of ideas we liked. He talked us through everything and gave us samples of the materials and colours we could choose from. We picked the design and materials we wanted and Mark’s team turned it into reality. It looks even better than the picture idea we found. The team completed the work in 1 day and everything was made to measure. Mark is so attentive, professional and kind. He kept us updated every step of the way with how the making of the cabinet was going. We absolutely love our new media wall! It has added sophistication and elegance to our lounge. Thank you to Mark and the whole team. They are extremely good at what they do. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
